LEEDS - 2017
Cath Moffat
Many thanks to the Secretary and her committee for giving me the opportunity
to award CCs in this beautiful breed at one of my favourite Championship
shows. After a very wet start, the Yorkshire sun gods took pity and it
turned into the most beautiful summer's day. Thank you to Roger, my
steward, who worked so well to keep the ring 'flowing' and most of all to
the exhibitors who accepted all my decisions with good grace, you have my
utmost respect for getting such a large breed to the ring through such wet
conditions and every one of those dogs was immaculate. I thoroughly enjoyed
my day, thank you.

like a tidier return when moving and felt not as free in movement as my

1 Downes' Pyrpressure's My American Dream at Belshanmish (imp USA). Loved
this 4 year old boy as soon as he entered the ring, he didn't disappoint me
when being assessed. Lovely, masculine head with the most gorgeous
expression and good pigment. Beautifully angulated all through with
balanced body proportions. Excellent depth in chest with correct shape and
length of rib, strong loin. Well muscled, powerful rear with correct tail
carriage. Loved his temperament, such an easy-going boy eager to please.
Moved beautifully in all directions and was easily the star of this class,
delighted to hear this was his crowning 3rd CC, well deserved. Totally
unphased in the big ring he was short-listed in a strong pastoral group. 2
Bowker/Gibson's Ch. Febus Mauvezin JW ShCM. Another handsome male, 6 years,
who ticked all the right boxes for breed type. Beautifully presented, as
typical from this kennel, and shown sympathetically to bring out his best

Balanced and sound all through with excellent angulation. A strong, well

1 Cochrane's Pyroni Colours of the Wind for Myatoksci. Feminine puppy of
just 7 months, very much a baby but lots of qualities to appreciate. Pretty
head with lovely expression and eye, good pigment. Nicely angulated
throughout which showed in her easy movement. Balanced body proportions,
she was well muscled for such a youngster and showed lots of promise, just
needs to mature on to see an even nicer picture. Beautifully presented in
quality coat. 2 Bamford's Lisjovia Keep the Faith for Pafaxen. 10 months
with kind head and expression, good eye. Although nicely angulated in front
and rear, felt she was a little wide in front. Held a sound top-line and
lovely shape standing and on the move. Nicely handled by her owner, she
moved well in all directions. Turned out and presented with quality, clean
coat.

temperament. Nice body outline but would like more depth in chest and
overall more substance and bone. Feminine head with kind expression and
eye. Initially moved out far too fast but when shown in a lower gear, she
showed some fair movement. Presented in clean and tidy condition with good
muscle tone.

1 Ford's Montimur Iris of the Storm. This lovely bitch of 2½ years really
caught my eye in this strong class. Feminine yet strong head with appealing
expression and eye. Beautifully angulated all through with correct body
proportions and depth of chest, steady top-line and good bone. Moved well
with excellent tail carriage all directions in the ring. Would like to see
a little less 'product' used in coat. That said, a beautiful example of the

owner/breeder.2 Bayliss' Ch. Shiresoak She's The One JW. Another lovely
example of this breed who I also admired. Beautiful feminine head with
gorgeous expression and good pigment on this 2 year old girl. Balanced body

1 Pollard's Ch. Gillandant Sugar and Spice JW. Loved this bitch very much,
she's an absolute credit to her breeder and owner. An amazing temperament
and in incredible condition for a giant breed of 9½ years. Ticked every box
for me from breed standard to temperament and could certainly share her
'secret' for fit, longevity with many a youngster. Lovely feminine head
and expression with an excellent, clean and tidy mouth! Beautifully
angulated all through with correct body proportions she belied her senior
years, a very special lady who I was delighted to award her 33rd CC.
