SOUTH EASTERN PYRENEAN MOUNTAIN DOG CLUB-
SPECIAL.
I was pleased to have this appointment; thank
you and I wasn’t disappointed. I was met by a warm, friendly welcome, taken
through to where the hall had been laid out beautifully, with lovely flower
arrangements, lunch table and awards table, (they know how to do it!) Following
introduction to the president, Mrs. Jean Hammond, who is passionate about her
breed, and might I add, a super flower arranger, we chatted over coffee and
found we had a lot in common, I really enjoyed Jean’s charming company. A good
atmosphere prevailed over a delicious lunch.
PUPPY OF THE YEAR
CHARIBERE SIMLY THE SEQUAL AT KAIANNA. This one was
the POTY. Not yet finished, but what a lovely balanced dog. Has good
pigmentation with well placed eye, depicting a thoughtful expression. Has
rounded skull, smooth through to slightly tapered muzzle with width to under
jaw. Clean through neck. He stands on well boned legs and compact feet. Firm
back to width to rump and tail follows through. Moved with ease and good
footfall. Interestingly his handler came and told me later, he was the son of a
super dog, I gave best in show to.
Winner second round to beat; BELSHANMISH NEW SENSATION
AT PYRAJAY. I am guessing this one is sibling to Total Eclipse, as very similar
remarks apply and bears the same affix. Lovely temperament and handled without
stressing the animal, which is good to see in youngsters, particularly, and in a
hall that does not really do justice to a large breed. KINZER-ANGLERAIN AVANTE
HELA. Pleasing smooth shape in outline standing. Head of correct proportions in
side profile, but young yet and could fill. Well placed eye displays confident
expression, good muzzle, and teeth. Moved with enjoyment doing a decent job.
Well boned and compact feet. This one is clean all through and of good
proportions. Not as ready yet as ultimate winner. Winner against; WILLIAMS &
Hall, BELSHANMISH TOTAL ECLIPSE. In the first round. Who is just a little
uncoordinated at present. Of pleasing type in shape, head needs to develop and
needs to come up on feet. Well presented in good coat and handled well. DEARMAN
& HENSON, LISJOVIA ETERNAL GUARDIAN FOR PYREKEES. Liked this 8 month. Molded
head, clean neck, well developed body to rounded rump and flowing continuation
of tail. Moved well. Should come on well.
VETERAN OF THE YEAR. THORNE
CH. BELSHANMISH PRETTY IN PINK AT PYRAJAY. A LOVELY
BITCH IN IMMACULATE ORDER. Certainly, does not look her age and presents clean
shapely lines with breed type. Feminine with rounded, filled head piece. Correct
in topline, strength in loin flows through slope to croup with well-placed tail.
Has carriage and easy action. Was beaten in DOTY but deserved BV & first round
loser.
DOG OF THE YEAR
POLLARD& MAGGS, GILLANDANT THIEF OF HEARTS AT DEWYCHE.
Bye. Power, type, and in lovely condition, this one fit the bill today. I
understand he is 2 years, so can only go on to greater things. Lovely head
clean, rounded and filled under the dark, well fitting almond eye. Small ear
placed level with eye. Smooth flowing outline to good tail, with slight curl at
tip. Has heart room in rib but not overdone in spring. Neat elbows and quality
legs and feet. Purposeful, economical mover holding correct outline. DOTY.
REILLY, CH. MULTI CH. LISJOVIA BORIS BEAR AT DARMAROR. Easy to see he has his
title as he depicts the breed standard, has power, and presented in super
muscular condition and good coat. He was a pleasure to judge, I just preferred
the head of winner overall for me. He has power and performs well. Handled to
advantage Beat –B.Pretty in pink, in this round. POLLARD, GILLANDANT XMAS SPICE.
Honest and soundly made. Has balance of head through shapely body with
condition. Presented in decent coat and went round the ring keeping shape with
sound action, wasting no energy. Beat, B.New Sensation at P.
Beautiful glass trophies and rosettes were presented,
and everyone was in good spirits as cake and Tea was served by the efficient Sue
Reilly.
A real genuine dog event, Thank you.
Patsy Hollings.
